Out of Poverty
AWSC aims to continue contributing to efforts to relieve poverty in Canada, developing countries, and amongst disaster victims by providing the necessities of life, including food, clean water, clothing, and/or shelter to individuals or families who are poor, low-income, or in need. We also offer services such as Newcomer Orientation, support to apply for PR Card, Citizenship, Work Permit, SIN Card, OHIP, ODSP, Old Age Security (OAS), Guaranteed Income Supplement, CPP (Canada Pension Plan), ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program), Canada Child Tax Benefit, and Social Housing, Clothing Exchange, Food Bank, Community Dinners, Seniors Programs, Referral to appropriate Service Providers, and more.
Empowerment Through Education
AWSC aims to advance education by providing (a) classes on the subjects of childbirth education, preparation for parenting, and nutrition to young girls and women; (b) leadership training programs to women; (c) publicly available scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of financial assistance to students to be used for post-secondary education.
Mental Health
AWSC aims to address and prevent specific problems faced by families by providing (a) parents, children, and youth with mentoring programs, workshops, and seminars on issues such as anger management, conflict resolution, and effective communication; (b) grief support and counselling for survivors that addresses issues associated with the loss of family members; (c) counselling and outreach programs to individuals affected by family violence.

The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is a federal grants and contributions program. It provides funding for projects that make a difference in the lives of seniors and in their communities.
The Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care system will provide families with access to high-quality, affordable, flexible and inclusive early learning and child care no matter where they live.
